4. Special Event
(4/13-4/29):
Activity (25 points), Portfolio (25 points), Peer Evaluation (25 points)
Groups of approximately 4-5 students (same groups throughout the
semester) will be responsible for executing a special event, program,
games, or activity during class time. The group is responsible for
securing all equipment or supplies for the class. The group is not
responsible for securing the physical space necessary for the program,
unless it meets outside of our regular classroom, field, or gymnasium.
Each group will plan, organize, implement, and evaluate a recreational
activity or sport program. This is a group effort; therefore all
documents will be graded as such. Each group will do peer evaluations to
evaluate each other's participation in the event. Please do not wait
until the last moment to prepare your activity. Be sure to select an
activity that involves planning and preparation. Be creative and keep
the time of year and weather in mind for activity ideas. Several
documents must be submitted in a binder for a grade (4/29).
