Internet Access
|
|
Students may often access the Internet through labs on campus or at
their local library. For Internet access at home one needs an
Internet Service Provider (ISP). An ISP is a company that can
provide you with the software necessary for getting onto the
Internet. Before you establish an ISP account be certain that the
ISP's system will not disconnect your computer from the Internet
while you are online. Online exams, for example, typically do not
require online activity other than to be connected to the exam for
timing and submission. If an ISP has an automatic disconnection
feature, you need to consult with them to configure your computer's
settings so you do not lose an Internet connection while you are
working online. |
| |
E-mail |
|
An e-mail address is established when you sign up with an ISP. Two
providers of free e-mail are Yahoo! Mail and MSN Hotmail. D2L has
its own internal e-mail system from which you can forward a copy of
your D2L e-mail to an external e-mail account. D2L e-mail cannot
be delivered directly to or sent directly from an external account.

Your browser needs to be Java capable, minimally a version 4.0
browser or better. We recommend that you
download the current
version of Java?/span>
and install it. You will be prompted to reboot your computer following
installation. |
