Application for Trip Permit forms are available from the departmental offices. Trip regulations appear in the General Catalog. It is essential that these guidelines be followed for insurance reasons and to legitimize student absence from classes. At the time of approval, the student(s) will also receive a form to be signed by the faculty of the classes to be missed, in order to ensure an excused absence from the class(es) concerned. A trip may not be approved after-the-fact and accurate reporting of student trips is essential. Because of the importance of this process, if there is any possibility of a request not clearing the office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs prior to the trip, it is suggested that you hand carry the forms to the office to make certain that it is signed before students leave campus.
