TESTING ACCOMMODATIONS FOR STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES Faculty will announce SDSU disability information during orientation at the beginning of each semester through the course syllabus. A student who knows or believes that he or she has a learning disability should contact the faculty after class. An undergraduate student should be referred to the SDSU Director of Disability Services. The student will be requested to register with this office. The reason for the referral is to ensure that the rights of the student are protected and to protect faculty and the institution. No accommodations will be made without appropriate documentation verifying a student's disability. Once the Director of Disability Services office has documentation and has received a request from the student, a determination will be made on appropriate accommodation. These decisions are made based on the Civil Rights Law: Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. Any further questions should be referred to the SDSU Director of Disability Services at 688-4504. Reviewed: December 2004 Return to Nursing Student Handbook
