Use of Telephones

USE OF TELEPHONES

If it is a course requirement to call a patient/client long distance, the College of Nursing phone may be used.  Permission must be obtained from a faculty member to use a College of Nursing phone.  The student is responsible for all personal phone calls accrued during any motel stay related to college courses and clinical.  When staying at the Brimark Inn in Sioux Falls or the Day’s Inn in Yankton, the telephone in the rooms may be used under the following conditions:

     1. All bills are paid at the time of checkout.
     2. There are no delinquent bills from any other student.

If the telephone bill is not paid, the student(s) sharing the room will not receive their course grade until the telephone bill is paid.

USE OF CELL PHONES

Cell phone's should be turned off or to lights/vibrate during class, labs and clinical.  Students may check their messages during classroom or clinical breaks only. If the student receives call during class, lab, or clinical time the instructor may deduct the student's grade related to participation.
