Socialization.
The following is a recommendation from
the Professional Socialization Task Force convened to address in Spring
2004..
Professional
behavior is an expectation of this class. Courtesies associated with
professional behavior include:

Come to class and clinical
on time and remain the entire class/clinical.

Arrive to each class
prepared and be present, alert, and motivated to learn during the
entire time.

Keep all verbal and
nonverbal communication appropriate.

Turn off cell phones and
pagers during class.
-
Minimize noisy distractions
with backpacks, books, drinking, and eating.
-
Be considerate of your
classmates so they can hear and concentrate.
-
Follow laptop etiquette.
It is also recommended by the Task Force
that faculty add the above statement or a modified statement to course
syllabi and review these expectations with students at the first class.
