The Nursing Student Association of SDSU is the only student nursing organization on the SDSU campus. As you advance in your nursing education, NSA can help you build the leadership skills you need to be successful in the health care field. The NSA mission is: · To organize, represent, and mentor students preparing for initial licensure as registered nurses, as well as those nurses enrolled in baccalaureate completion programs · To promote development of skills needed to be responsible and accountable members of the nursing profession · To advocate high quality health care NSA recognizes
that future leaders of the 21st century will
confront a complex workplace in a diverse world. NSA brings together
students, the university, the faculty, and the community to help you
grow and develop necessary leadership skills and provide growth
opportunities that you can get nowhere else than right here at SDSU
with your NSA involvement.
Here’s how you get involved with NSA: Pre-nursing and nursing students are eligible to be involved in this exciting opportunity. Here’s How: · Get an application from the NSA office, or Nursing Student Services, fill it out, send it in with your payment · Get involved and attend fun events · It’s that easy! Being a member of NSA helps nursing students develop leadership skills, but it also provides an opportunity for students to build social skills and just have fun! Meetings are scheduled for the first Thursday of each month at 5:00P.M. in NFA 238. Everyone is welcome to attend the meetings. Dates to Remember Dates for the annual American Red Cross blood drive are November 15 (1pm-7pm), 16 (10am-4pm), and 17 (10am-4pm). The blood drive will be held in the Volstorff Ballroom. Informational meeting for the blood drive: Wednesday, October 5th at 5:00pm NFA 334. You will get community service points for helping with these activities. NOTE: We do not require that you are a member in order to attend meetings and participate in Nursing Student activities. However we do encourage you to join. We do get incentives and voting delegates for the state meeting according to the numbers in our local membership. When you join at the national level you automatically become a member of the state and local organization. You can join online by going to the following website or you can print the membership off and mail it in. Here is the address for the state website.
