GRADING AND EVALUATION

Course Grades

A copy of the faulty grade records remain University property. The semester coordinator or faculty of record responsible for a course should retain grades in their file for one year after the completion of the semester the course was offered. Grades should also be retained for one year after final resolution of an academic appeal process.

The following information should be recorded and retained:

1. A record of scores, points, etc. used to earn summative grade and the list of grades derived     from these scores/points etc.

2. An explanation of how grades were calculated from these evaluative data.

Faculty who leave or change assignments must pass these files on as official departmental materials to the Department Head.

The University grade sheet will be submitted to the faculty member’s department head at the end of each semester. After the Registrar has recorded grades, the faculty member will receive a verification of grades from the Registrar’s office. If the faculty member sees inconsistencies in the identified grades and marks changes, the faculty member should inform the department head. The department head will be responsible for retaining a copy of the grade sheet in the department office for a period of six years following the end of the semester.
