The healthfinder is a gateway consumer health and human services information web site from the United States government. Healthfinder can lead you to selected online publications, clearinghouses, databases, web sites, and support and self-help groups, as well as the government agencies and not-for-profit organizations that produce reliable health information. http://www.os.dhhs.gov/ The Department of Health and Human Services is the United States government's principal agency for protecting and promoting the health of Americans and providing essential human services, especially for those who are most in need and unable to assist themselves. The site contains information on medical and social science research, infectious diseases and immunization, food and drug safety, Medicare, Medicaid, child support enforcement, infant health, child abuse and domestic violence, and substance abuse treatment and prevention. http://www.nih.gov/ The National Institutes of Health (NIH) performs research and uncovers new knowledge that will lead to better health for Americans, and consequently, people around the world. NIH works toward that mission by: conducting research in its own laboratories; supporting the research of non-Federal scientists in universities, medical schools, hospitals, and research institutions throughout the country and abroad; helping in the training of research investigators; and fostering communication of biomedical information. The site contains a complete overview of the NIH, snapshots of medical and health topics, and extensive information on research projects currently being undertaken. The site has a convenient search engine which makes navigation simple, as well as links to other biomedical, science and educational web sites. http://helping.apa.org/ Helping Center is a webzine of the American Psychological Association. In the area Home, the webzine provides information and links to resources associated with single parenting, general family issues, teenager and elder care. There are two other areas devoted to subjects related to Work and Mind and Body http://www.vix.com/pub/men/health/health.html The Men's Issues Page WWW Virtual Library health section provides detailed information and resources on men's physical and mental health. This is a valuable site on health and gender, as many or the fact sheets and articles present reasoning for differences between men and women. http://www.feminist.org/other/bc/bchome.html The Feminist Majority Online presents this section of their web site devoted to breast cancer awareness. The Breast Cancer Information Center provides information on mammograms, prevention, treatment, medical and psychological resources and current research on the disease. Men and Domestic Violence Index is a mental health information link that has a hot list of domestic violence ites.

Crisis, Grief, and Healing is a web site exploring paths to healing after loss. There is an area specifically comparing males' and females' approaches to healing.
