| This web site serves as a
place for faculty to share items of interest with other faculty, such as
tips for teaching, a teaching idea that worked well in a class, some item
that "stuck" with you from a meeting, conference or convention.
Occasionally there may be a question posed to the faculty about some aspect of teaching and/or learning- and faculty will have an opportunity to respond with their ideas on the topic. |

| This link will take you to an on-line literature review about learning styles- something we all hear tons about, but don't too often see literature about! |
| If you want more information about effective teaching, this link will be a good start! |
| For another site with information on empirically validated teaching methods, direct your pointer here: http://www.behavior.org/ |

REMINDER ABOUT INFORMATION FROM CONFERENCES, ETC. RELATED TO WHAT WE DO WITH STUDENTS..... Have you gone to a conference, convention or meeting this past month where you picked up an idea or suggestions about something new to do in classes, or a different approach to teaching the "same old stuff," or where someone shed light on a challenge you have? Do you want to share that information with the rest of us in Arts & Science- who are also looking for insights about teaching and students, etc.? Well- IF YOU DO--- send the thought to me! We'll post them here, put your name on it (if you want) and we'll share with each other the bits and pieces of what WE learn about teaching and learning! |

We are looking for input from the faculty regarding the services and events sponsored by the Teaching Learning Center. We need to know from you- the faculty who use the services- what events and "things" we need to try to continue in this time between grants. What do you want to see us continue? What can wait? Please contact Patty Hacker (Patty.Hacker@sdstate.edu) with your comments and suggestions.
