The content of your portfolio will be reviewed by your advisor and at least one other faculty member. It must meet their approval regarding quality of rationale of how you meet each goal plus the match between the rationale and the various artifacts selected to demonstrate your competencies. The portfolio is used in lieu of written exams and must be successfully completed 2 weeks prior to the date of the oral exam.  A failure to provide an acceptable portfolio will result in being unable to take orals.

The evaluation of the portfolio for writtens will be based on the artifacts and rationales, taken together.

Artifacts must be appropriate to goal, demonstrate student’s competence, and consist only of work in which student had a role in production (could include assignments, products that student produced during internship, or products of committees on which student had an active role; would not include things like the agenda of a meeting the student attended or an article the student read).  Rationales must successfully make the case that the artifacts do indeed represent evidence that the student has met the goals.
