Bifurcation Diagram Applet

This page starts a Bifurcation Diagram Applet.  Click in the white screen to see the bifurcation diagram for the chosen map and parameter range.  Depending on you choice of settings, it may take a few seconds before anything visible starts to happen.  One way to tell if its working is by moving the mouse.  If you move it and the mouse coordinates reported near the bottom of the applet don't change then it's working.

You can change the function defining the map and other options.  Please see the help menus for more on how to use this applet.

This applet is slow, but it's the best I can do with a Java applet.  See the help menus for ways to speed it up.  Feel free to write your own Bifurcation Diagram program in a compiled language and use it  if you really get into this and want to investigate at length.  The algorithm is simple; I'll send you my Java code if you want and you can translate it into C++ or whatever else you want.
