This web site was created to provide a source of ideas that public water supply system personnel can use to comply with the Disinfectant/Disinfection Byproducts Rule (D/DBPR) and the Interim Enhanced Surface Water Treatment Rule (IESWTR) of the Safe Drinking Water Act. The site evolved from an agreement between the South Dakota Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the South Dakota Section of the American Water Works Association to provide advanced water operator training for systems in South Dakota.
